Janet Fagan-Smith graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1991 and was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995. Janet also studied for a year at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida, and has won numerous awards in juried shows, including a purchase award from the North West Florida Art Museum.
Janet's poetic images hang in homes across the United States, and although she explores many themes through her work, consistent is her desire to evoke mystery and kindle her audience's imagination.
Janet's work is a reflection of her imagination through which she creates an internal landscape for her audience to wander into and explore. Through her use of universal, often whimsical, imagery, Janet speaks to the human spirit hoping to inspire her audience to create their own stories.
Currently, Janet is living in Seattle, Washington, where she teaches art and continues to paint.
